Europe Commission Meeting
On Monday and Tuesday, 4–5 April, the members of the Order’s Europe Commission met in Rome for the seventh meeting of the Sexennium 2012-2018.
The meeting resolved to set up a working group, provisionally for a 3-year term, to promote networking between the centres for the homeless. This proposal had been made by the participants in the Grundtvig European project, implemented in 2014 and 2015 with the support of the Brussels.
The Commission also gave its support for the proposal to run a Formation course for Directors of the Provincial Curias on the values of the Order and the charism of the Founder, Saint John of God.
The members also reported on the work of the subcommissions and on the forthcoming events scheduled for 2017, including a new European meeting for the officials responsible for the pastoral care of the sick. Lastly, the members analysed and discussed, for the first time, the make-up of the Europe Commission based on the conclusions of the Sorrento Regional Conference.
The next meeting will be held on 14 and 15 November, in Rome.
