The St. Thomas Indian Province of the
Hospitaller Brothers of St. John of God had a long cherished dream since the
last 10 years to start a mission in one of the underdeveloped states of India,
Orissa. This long cherished dream is realized on the 4th of November 2017
by the inauguration and blessing of the St John of God Ashram, a centre for the
differently abled in Sindurapally, Chatrapur, Orissa.
His grace Rt. Rev Dr Sharat Chandra Nayak
blessed the centre for the differently abled. The school for differently
able was inaugurated by Madame Françoise de Polignac, president of AAJI (Association
pour l’aide aux jeunes infirmes et aux personnes handicapees, 223 rue Lecourbe,
75015 Paris) and Bro Paul Adnon from France.
The community building was inaugurated by
Brothers Seraphim Schorer and Thomas Väth from Bavarian Province,
Germany.
This endeavour was carried out by the
generous help from the Hospitaller Brothers of the French Province and their
charity organization AAJI, the Bavarian Province and a generous benefactor from
Austria.
On this occasion the 4th November 2017 the
Golden Jubilee day of Bro Savio, we celebrated his Golden Jubilee. He was
instrumental in actualizing this project.
