On Sunday 20 July 2025, our confrere Brother Parfait was ordained a priest by His Excellency Bishop Antoine Sabi BIO, Bishop of the Diocese of Natitingou, during a solemn Eucharistic celebration in the parish church of Saint Joseph in Tanguiéta.

Together with other ordinands, Brother Parfait Alagra Aketre, a religious Hospitaller from Togo, was ordained a priest in the name of Hospitality. The Mass was concelebrated by a number of diocesan and religious priests, including our confreres Brother Hugues Assou, Provincial Superior, Brother Jacob Ketchen and Brother Richard Kabia.

In his homily, Bishop Antoine forcefully recalled the essential vocation of the ordained minister, saying:
« Through your ministry, you are called to serve your religious family, and through it, the Church. You are Brothers who are also priests, not priests who are also Brothers. »

This fervent celebration brought together more than 500 people - religious men and women, family members and friends - to share in the joy of this ordination.

The celebration ended with a refreshment on the grounds of the Saint Jean de Dieu Hospital of the Brothers in Tanguiéta.
