In Thiès, on December 6, 2025,
the feast day of Saint Nicholas, the community of Dalal-Xel celebrated a
memorable day of faith, gratitude, and fraternity. The celebration marked
fundamental milestones for the Hospitaller Order: fifty years of mission in Senegal,
which began in 1975, during which the religious have tirelessly served the sick
and the most vulnerable.
Within this half-century of
history, thirty years have been specifically dedicated to the work of Dalal-Xel
in Thiès, a profound commitment to mental health and human support. The day was
also an opportunity to celebrate the fidelity of six Confreres—François Ngor
FAYE, Étienne Mbad SENE, Léopold Ngor FAYE, Dieudonné AMEDJI, Cosme HAMAHOUZO,
and Michel EKE—who reached the milestone of twenty-five years of religious
profession.
A moment of great emotion was
also the solemn profession of Brother Joachim Ngor FAYE. The solemn Eucharist,
the culmination of the celebrations, was presided over by Monsignor Martin
Boucar TINE, Bishop of Kaolack, and was attended by the Prior General Brother
Pascal AHODEGNON, bearing witness to the spiritual and historical significance
of the event.
