The General Canonical Visitation to the Korean Province, carried out from 24 August to 17 September 2026, came to a close in Gwangju, where the Provincial Curia is located. The Superior General, Br. Pascal Ahodegnon, undertook the journey together with Br. John Jung, General Councillor, travelling through Seoul, Japan, Gwangju and Damyang, and visited each community and apostolic centre accompanied by the Provincial, Br. Francis Kim. The Superior General described the Visitation as "a time of truth and rebirth, of rereading and abundant fruitfulness," and expressed his deep gratitude for the remarkable vitality he had found within the Province.

On the closing day, two gatherings followed, one for the Brothers and one for the Co-workers. The Superior General urged the Brothers to rekindle the flame of the Hospitaller vocation, stressing that a Hospitaller Brother is not an administrator of facilities but a guardian of human dignity. He called the younger Brothers to a deep rootedness that allows the Gospel to transform them from within, and reminded the elderly Brothers of their role as guardians of our memory and living witnesses of fidelity, asking that the Province draw up a plan for its elderly and sick Brothers.

In his address to the Co-workers, the Superior General made clear that the flame of the charism no longer rests on the shoulders of the Brothers alone, emphasizing that the shared responsibility borne by Brothers and lay people as "one family" is our greatest strength.

Br. Pascal, Superior General, brought the General Canonical Visitation to the Korean Province to a close by expressing to the Brothers and Co-workers his hope that "the conclusion of the General Canonical Visitation may become a new beginning," and by recalling once again the commitment we all share: "Let us spread Hospitality in a changing world."
