The journey
in Africa of the Superior General, Brother Pascal Ahodegnon, continues,
accompanied by Brother Etienne Sène, General Councillor, within the context of
the process of accompaniment and animation of the celebrations of the
Provincial Chapters.
After the
previous stages, the two brothers have arrived in Lomé, Togo, where from today,
April 27, until May 1, the second Chapter will take place at the Centre de
spiritualité des Sœurs Canossiennes, which is hosting this important gathering
for reflection and communal discernment.
The Chapter
represents a significant moment to review the path taken and to plan for the
future, lived in a spirit of shared responsibility and fraternal communion. In
a context marked by social, pastoral, and vocational challenges, the capitular
members are called to reread the experience of the Order in the light of its
charism, in order to identify concrete choices that will strengthen its mission
and evangelical witness in the entrusted territories.
The Chapter
will also be an opportunity to renew commitment to formation, the care of
vocations, fidelity to the evangelical way of life, and service to the most
vulnerable, in harmony with the teachings of the Church’s Magisterium and the
priorities of the Order.
We entrust
the work of the Chapter to the intercession of Saint John of God and of our
saints and blessed, so that the Holy Spirit may accompany the brothers in this
time of grace, making fruitful the decisions that will emerge for the benefit
of the Order and the communities it serves.
