Jurado Robayo

My name is Elsa Leonor Jurado Robayo, from Bogotá, D.C., a Co-worker with the Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God, in the Colombian Province, at the Nuestra Señora de La Paz hospital, where I entered 18 years ago as a Nursing Auxiliary; it was then that I began to know the spirit and values of John of God which have been my source of motivation, following the example of the Brothers who practise hospitality as faithful witnesses to the charism of the Order; their vocation and self-giving has been stimulus to me to dedicate myself to the service of the sick and needy. It has been a wonderful experience to look after elderly and sick Brothers in the house at Fusagasugá for 10 years. I am grateful to have had this opportunity to bear my personal testimony to the importance of the Hospitaller vocation which we Brothers and members of the laity share, feeling integrated and committed together. I personally feel animated and integrated into the Hospitaller mission and I pray for many vocations to strengthen the hospitality of St John of God.

In this worthwhile vocation I feel happy and fulfilled, because I have grown in human and spiritual terms, and as a Co-worker of the Order. I consider it a gift of God to have met Saint John of God and to have become a member of the Hospitaller family, because “together and integrated we can serve better”.
