It is been a blessing for me to integrate my life and incorporate my work into the Hospitaller Order.  I met the Brothers while at high school and joined a youth group for several years, before beginning to work with the Secretariat of the Saint John of God Psychiatric Hospital in Chía, before resigning two years later. In 2004 I once again began working with the Provincial Curia which was an enriching experience for which I feel privileged.

I occupied myself with a variety of functions as Administrative Assistant which I endeavoured to perform  as well as possible in an ongoing dialogue with the Brothers who invited us to interact with one another and reaffirm the values of the Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God, such as hospitality, respect, accountability, responsibility, high-quality work, tolerance of others and, more important still, spirituality, stressing the need to treat others as one would like to be treated oneself, and remembering the love which God shows us at all times and in all places, living joyfully this opportunity to serve.

However, although it is easy to lose sight of excellence in the course of our daily routines, because of the need to do things quickly, or being constantly stressed by the world outside, but always with the support of Christ’s’s Teaching and the continuing testimony of the Hospitaller Community,  I try not to sidetrack and to perform my functions as effectively and responsibly as possible, without neglecting the need to share with others and to experience being understanding and receptive to the needs of Others.
