The Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Deu in Sant Boi (Barcelona) is celebrating the 125th anniversary of the presence of the Hospitaller Order with the arrival of St. Benedict Menni with two communities of Brothers and Sisters to take charge of the Psychiatric Hospital which had been founded by Dr. Antoni Pujadas 42 years earlier. On this occasion, a Mass of Thanksgiving was celebrated on 1st October, presided over by the Superior General, Brother Jesús Etayo, accompanied by Brother Amador Fernández, the Provincial Superior of the new Spanish Province, and other priests of the Order.

The anniversary celebrations, that had been postponed because of the pandemic, will include a series of religious, cultural and festive events of all kinds so that all the members of the Hospitaller family can participate equally. 125 years of constant, comprehensive and professional service to the sick local people with completely renovated facilities, and a network of mental health services, and since 2010, a new general hospital with all the specialisms needed to provide care for a population of 130,000 people.
