Saturday, 11 January, Pope Francis welcomed and greeted the Brothers of the new
and outgoing General Council. The meeting was held in a room adjoining the Paul
VI Hall in a climate of fraternity and
familiarity. The two Councils were meeting in Rome to reflect on the challenges
facing the Order and to plan the next sexennium. The Holy Father briefly
exchanged greetings with each of the Brothers, and the Superior General,
Brother Pascal Ahodegnon, presented the Holy Father with the book on the Bull Licet
ex debito. The Pope, as is his custom, asked the Brothers to pray for him.
