Novitiate Lomé (TOGO)
Temporary Professions and admissions to the Novitiate
In Agoè
Nyivé, on 1 May 2025 at 9 a.m., a solemn Eucharist was held, during which nine
young Brothers took temporary vows in our Order. The nine brothers come from
five countries: Benin (01), Cameroon (02), Kenya (01), Madagascar (03) and Togo
(02).
The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by
Brother Hugues Assou, Provincial Superior of the Saint Richard Pampuri Province
of Africa. In his homily, Brother Hugues urged the newly professed to make the
three 'P's' their own: prayer, patience and poverty, according to the teaching
of Pope Francis, of venerable memory.
Taking St Richard Pampuri, who made his
profession as a doctor an act of charity in favour of the most needy of his
time, as a model, Brother Hugues invited the young brothers to an apostolic
commitment under the banner of humility.
The nine young brothers professed their vows in
the hands of Brother Paulinus Toh Kisam, the Provincial Superior of the
Province of St Augustine.
Also present was Brother Paul Marie Taufana,
Provincial Superior of the French Province, who addressed words of thanks and
encouragement to the newly professed at the end of the celebration.
We would also like to take this opportunity to
point out that during Lauds before Mass, four young men were admitted to the
novitiate.
At the end of the Eucharistic celebration, all
participants were invited to share a toast of friendship in a joyful atmosphere.
