On Sunday, 28 September 2025, four novices
concluded their period of formation in the European Novitiate in Brescia
(Italy) by making their temporary profession. The four Brothers are Brother
Luis Alberto Quintanilla (Spain), Brother Bálint Brenner (Hungary), Brother
Thiago Miguel Rodrigues Fournier (Portugal) and Brother Clemens Johannes
Schuster (Germany).
With this step, the newly professed Brothers
become more firmly attached to the Order, continuing their journey in the
spirit of hospitality. Temporary profession marks the passage to the next stage
of formation, the scholasticate, in which the Brothers deepen and consolidate
their desire to serve God and neighbour.
Four paths for one mission
In the Scholasticate, the four newly professed will
deepen their formation according to the needs of the Order and their life
projects:
- Brother Clemens will resume his profession as a
nurse in the intensive care unit;
- Brother Thiago will further his training in
rehabilitation and palliative care;
- Brother Bálint will move to Regensburg in Germany
to deepen his knowledge of the German language;
- Brother Luis will start training as a care worker
in Madrid.
All four paths reflect the rich and vibrant charism of
the Brothers of St. John of God in Europe.
