Hospitality Europe
A New Approach from the February 2025 General Assembly
On October 30,
2025, the General Assembly of Hospitality Europe took place, a key moment to
define the organisation’s strategic and operational guidelines. During the
meeting, the Position Paper was presented, inviting a shared reflection on
charisma and institutional identity.
Among the main proposals that emerged from the discussions between the
Provincial Superiors and General Directors was the intention to develop a
common strategy, not only to disseminate the best practices of the centres that
make up Hospitality Europe within the common framework defined by Hospitality,
but also to promote active advocacy on strategic issues, drawing on the strong
voice of the organisation, represented by 280 centres, approximately 70,000 coworkers,
and more than 7,000 volunteers.
On the
operational level, the project to create a European Institute of Social
Innovation was announced, with the aim of fostering a culture of innovation and
the transfer of working models among centres and provinces.
The European
working groups, already active in areas such as mental health, social
inclusion, ethics, and cultural heritage, will be expanded with new themes
including palliative and end-of-life care, as well as ageing and dementia.
Another key
point is the creation of an advocacy group to strengthen dialogue with European
institutions and promote a stakeholder network. The new communication plan,
designed to improve the visibility and effectiveness of Hospitality Europe’s
actions, was also presented.
The next General Assemblies will be held in Rome on March 13 and October 30,
2026.
