Election of the Provincial Superior
Today, May 21, Brother Erik Castillo was elected Provincial
Superior of the Province of Saint John of God of Latin America and the
Caribbean.
The election took place after a period of discernment led by
Father Darío Gómez Zuluaga, from the Diocese of Sonsón-Rionegro, who invited
the Capitular Brothers to reflect on Authority as service. An Authority guided
by synodality ceases to be pyramidal and instead walks together with others
toward the goals of the Charism.
We congratulate Brother Erik Castillo on his appointment as
Provincial Superior and accompany him with our prayers, asking the Lord to
guide him with His Holy Spirit, so that he may not be the owner of decisions,
but rather an administrator of the Charism of Saint John of God, in the words of
the priest who guided the discernment.
