A Visit to Remember Who We Are
Superior General Brother Pascal Ahodegnon Visits the Works of Latin America
Following the
conclusion of the Provincial Chapter, from May 25 to June 2, Brother Pascal
Ahodegnon, Superior General of the Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God,
accompanied by Brother Dairon Meneses, General Secretary, made a fraternal
visit to the ministries of the Latin America and Caribbean Province in the
Andean Region.
Clinics,
nursing schools, social outreach centers, and shelters: each ministry offered a
glimpse into the richness of the charism of hospitality, expressed through
mental health care, education, vocational training, and the accompaniment of
children, young people, adults, and older persons.
Today, we are
all Saint John of God. With these words, Brother Pascal invited the Brothers
and co-workers to recognize themselves as protagonists of a single mission: to
make visible those who remain invisible, to bring hope to those who suffer, and
to build a more humane community in every center. He reminded them that
hospitality is a shared responsibility that requires creativity, innovation,
and the ability to work together.
At the end of
the visit, a sense of gratitude remains, together with a renewed invitation, to
continue transforming society through hospitality, bringing life, hope, and
dignity wherever suffering exists.
The mission
continues to live on every time a person feels welcomed, accompanied, and loved
according to the spirit and style of Saint John of God.
